HOMILETICAL PEDAGOGY (HM-6010)

Course Memo

This doctoral level course is highly recommended for GTU Ph.D. students in homiletics and recommended for those in the Religion and Practice area who foresee being asked to teach homiletics. The course is designed to equip students to recognize and reflect on best practices in teaching preaching at the master’s level. The course consists of observing, participating in, and reflecting on various components of the introductory preaching course – HM-2245. In addition, the course will include a seminar-style component in which students will reflect on course observations and course readings, as well as workshop various writing assignments that lead to the final paper. Meets Thursdays 1:00 – 2:00 for the seminar portion of the course and 2:10- 5:00 with HM-2245.
