SPIRITUAL FORMATION LEADERSHP (SPFT-1082)

(09/05/2023-12/15/2023)

Course Memo

This course aims to prepare students to perceive, develop, and access spirituality in their vocation as global leaders. The course guides the students in an exploration of their own embedded spirituality, key components of spiritual development, spirituality and relationality, spirituality and resistance, and communal spiritual leadership. Most importantly, students will learn to translate scholarly spiritual and theological insights into a public-facing spiritual philosophy that can enable them to become spiritual leaders to individuals and communities, particularly those who are oppressed. The process of spiritual leadership involves narrative, vulnerability, contemplation, and resilience – all of which are skills students will be able to develop throughout the course. Finally, students will be able to reflect on periodic spiritual practices that can aid the journey of spiritual development.[Auditors With Faculty Permission]
