CRITICAL PEDAGOGY/CRITICAL TIMES (BSED-3600)

(01/30/2023-05/19/2023)

Course Memo

“Theological educators have agreed for decades that simply providing a knowledgebased education is inadequate in seminary instruction.”1 This is the first sentence of a chapter in a book entitled Information Literacy and Theological Librarianship. Information Literacy in theological thinking is a rising field of great interest in the more general field of Information Literacy. The main goal of this class will be to grapple with the prevalence of misinformation and disinformation in our religious and civic life due to the rise of authoritarian populist movements and religious nationalism.
