FIELD EDUCATION PRACTICUM (FE-2151)

FALL 2023

The FE-2151 Field Education Practicum is a one-credit course that JST M.Div. students will take in conjunction with a JST modular learning course. The field education credit will equate to 45 hours. Students taking the Practicum course will undertake 35 hours of supervised praxis-based ministry at a field education site. Time spent completing the field education course assignment and additional class time, will equate to 10 hours. Students will be required to complete a "Field Education Practicum" form in consultation with the Director of Ministerial Formation, the modular learning course instructor, and the site supervisor. The "Field Education Practicum" form should be submitted to the JST Registrar by the Friday of the first week of classes. [Faculty Consent required; Auditors excuded]

INTERSESSION 2024

The FE-2151 Field Education Practicum is a one-credit course that JST M.Div. students will take in concert with a JST Integrated Learning course. Students taking a FE-2151 Practicum will undertake 35 hours of supervised praxis-based ministry and participate in 10 hours of theological reflection/additional class time, including time spent completing a field education course assignment. Students will be required to complete a “Field Education Practicum” form in consultation with the Director of Ministerial Formation, the Integrated Learning course instructor, and the site supervisor. The “Field Education Practicum” form should be submitted to the Director of Ministerial Formation before the start of the Intersession course.

SPRING 2024

The FE-2151 Field Education Practicum is a one-credit course that JST M.Div. students will take in concert with a JST Integrated Learning course. Students taking a FE-2151 Practicum will undertake 35 hours of supervised praxis-based ministry and participate in 10 hours of theological reflection/additional class time, including time spent completing a field education course assignment. As part of this Practicum, students will meet in theological reflection groups. Students will be required to complete a “Field Education Practicum” form in consultation with the Director of Ministerial Formation, the Integrated Learning course instructor, and the site supervisor. The “Field Education Practicum” form should be submitted to the Director of Ministerial Formation by the Friday of the first week of classes.
