PUBLIC THEOLOGY: THE WORK OF JUSTICE (RSST-8100)

Course Memo
This course explores the work of Christian theology as an endeavor that seeks the common good. It draws on traditional
resources and evaluates new directions for Christian contributions to the welfare of society. With topics ranging from racial
justice, gender, money, power, and inter-disciplinary considerations of a pluralistic and multi-faith world, we will work to build a
theological foundation for faithful participation in public life. Assignments include reflection papers, analytical papers, and online
discussions. The majority of course activities will be asynchronous/online except for the following synchronous sessions:
Seminar Discussions: 5:00-6:00pm on two Tuesdays a month in Feb-May; webinars (with guest speakers: 9:30-11:00am on
one Saturday morning each month in Feb-May). For MDiv and MA/MTS students. [12 max enrollment]
