Course Memo

This course is co-taught by Amy Dibley and LeAnn Flesher. In this doctoral seminar on 1 Enoch chapters 83-91, also known as 4 Enoch or the Book of Dreams, we will study the main argument of the book, anchor 4 Enoch within the Enochic Tradition, study the use of the book in other writings, and note the emotional reactions found throughout 4 Enoch toward an analysis of the rhetorical function of the book. Seminar will meet: Feb 7, Mar 7, Apr 4, May 2 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm via Zoom. Students will also be required to teach a one hour university class session -- dates TBD. All doctoral and advanced master's level students are encouraged to enroll.
