Course Memo

This course is a general introduction to Hermeneutics and Methods. Its main goal is to explore different approaches, methodologies, and optics to interpreting religious, theological, and biblical texts. The course is designed to serve as an introduction to theological methods (Methods and Hermeneutics II), providing the necessary background to understand the developments of theological reflection as they have manifested in the XX and XXI centuries. As such, the course focuses on theory and critical theory with a focus on linking such developments to the study of the Sacred Texts in the Christian tradition. This course is offered during the first half of the semester.  Meets Mondays, 9:40 am - 12:30 pm. [30 max enrollment]
