Course Memo

This seminar course will provide students with foundational knowledge of Social Work theory and practice and the application of these principles to spiritual care. The course will utilize readings, media, case studies and accompanying reflection papers grounding learners in the core principles of social work, followed by group discussion and application of a social work text demonstrating a bio-psycho-social-spiritual response to racialized trauma (My Grandmother's Hands by Resmaa Menakem). This course is appropriate for MDiv, MA/MTS and others with practical interest in the intersection of social work and spiritual care. Course meets M-F, 6/13/22-6/17/22, and T-Sat, 6/21/22-6/25/22, from 2pm-5:30pm at CDSP. [Auditors with faculty permission]
