Course Memo
The course includes a consideration of all of the questions on law in Summa Theologiae, prima secundae; pertinent discussions in De Veritate, Summa Contra Gentiles, and In Metaphysic; analogy of law; special attention in the second half of the semester to common good and the analogies needed to understand Thomas; and some treatment of contemporary debates about law and virtue, classical and subjective understanding of rights, and the structure of society under modern terms of legal positivism.
