MTHDS:STUDY OF THE SYNOPTICS (NT-8200)

Canon, Gospel literary genre, Synoptic fact, contents and theological perspectives of the synoptic gospels. Introduction to exegetical methods/approaches such as historical criticism, narrative criticism, reader's response, feminist, postcolonial, and deconstruction. Format: Lectures/discussion. The course is asynchronous but will also include one monthly one-hour synchronous Zoom meetings. Evaluation: Written assignments, quizzes. The course is intended for MDiv, MTS, and MA students.
