Course Memo

This Course will explore the development of principles, methods, and theories of African theologies and ethics. It will, first, assess the Christian ambiguity in the colonial period and its implication on Christianism in Africa.  It will cover a systematic presentation of the fundamental sources of African Christian theologies: Inculturation, its meaning, definitions, challenges, and applications; Liberation theology in Africa; Survey of the various approaches and challenges to doing theology in Africa (Grounds in African philosophy, African women theology, African eco-theology, social justice, ecumenism, African Independent Churches, etc.) and the contribution of African Christianity to global Christianity from cultural, anthropological, ecological, Christological, and eschatological perspectives.
