SPIRITUAL FORMATION LEADERSHP (SPFT-1082)

(09/07/2021-12/17/2021)

Course Memo

This course is co-taught by Leonard McMahon and Eunhye So. This course aims to prepare students to access their spirituality as a resource in service to their work as leaders in a global context. It will focus on engaging contemplative practices from across various wisdom traditions, as employable in the pursuit of collective justice. Students will have the opportunity to develop a discipline of spiritual formation, as a complement to those practices, resources, and attitudes appropriate for their daily reflection. We will learn why the necessary engagement with perennial spiritual themes, such as birth and death, is most fruitful from the perspective of the margins. Finally, students will learn to perceive life in narrative terms and how storytelling is vital for leading others well. [Auditors With Faculty Permission]
