CHRISTIAN ECOLOGICAL THEOLOGIES (STCE-4830)

(09/07/2021-12/17/2021)

Course Memo

The course will explore Christian theological understandings of the relationships between God, Creation, and the human person, considering the work and claims of theologians from a variety of Christian traditions as they take up issues of ecological theology, ecological ethics, and ecological justice. Through written texts, films, and experiential learning in Creation – hiking, outdoor class, and nature study – this course will encourage students to engage both the content and process of doing ecological theology. The course is appropriate for masters students as well as doctoral students interested in pursuing ecological justice in their theological work. [15 max enrollment]
