Course Memo

This is the first in a two-semester sequence. Each course consists of the weekly expectation of two hours in class and eight to ten hours in concurrent placement in an approved and supervised congregation or alternative organization relevant to a student’s vocational intentions. In-class time will focus upon the following: (1) developing skill in theological reflection as a practice of ministry, (2) articulating one’s ministerial identity and vocation, and (3) developing the self as a leader for ministry. Various pedagogies, including lecture and discussion, are utilized towards this work. The student’s responsibilities in their respective placement site are defined by their contract and learning covenant. Evaluation: reflection papers, class responsibilities, and attendance and participation. Limited to CDSP students.
